According to a report published in the Times of India, ‘BCCI will send a second-class team to participate in the Asia Cup. The team’s schedule is very busy and they have to play a series of five Test matches in England itself. After the World Test Championship in England, the Indian team will remain there and during this time the second-tier team can take part in the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
BCCI has no other option
According to the report, the BCCI has no option but to send a second-class team as the board does not want to take any risk in the preparations for the England series. The BCCI does not want the cricketer to be in quarantine twice. If the Asia Cup is organized, then the BCCI will send only the second-class team.
