Railways taking strict action against people violating mask rules

Mumbai, 10/3 (AO Bureau): While the number of corona cases is steadily gaining momentum in Mumbai, on the other hand, the increasing number of passengers traveling without masks in the lifeline of Mumbai had increased the concern of Railways and BMC. In such a situation, the RPF and BMC have again come into action to curb the mask journey without increasing the local and have started a tremendous checking campaign. This campaign also saw a tremendous impact and most of the people were seen wearing masks for fear of action.

More than 6 thousand people were caught without masks
CPRO of Central Railway Shivaji Sutar told that we are constantly taking action against those traveling without masks in the local. Joint teams of BMC and RPF are conducting condensation checking operations at the stations. So far 6500 people have been caught traveling without masks and this action is going on continuously.
A fine of Rs 14 lakh has been recovered so far

 

According to the data released by the railways, the number of passengers traveling without masks in local has increased very fast in the last one week. In the Central Railway, where about 1400 a week, in the Western Railway, in the last 2 days, about 600 people have been caught traveling without masks. According to the data from 1 February till now, 6500 people have been caught traveling in the Central Railway, who have been charged a fine of around 14 lakhs, while a total of 4071 people have been caught in the Western Railway, which has been fined about 1.13 lakh.
