Former Congress Women’s wing Chief Lathika Subhash questions party’s ideology

Thiruvantpuram, 22/3 (AO Bureau): Polling for the assembly elections in Kerala will be held on April 6 . While the vote will be counted on May 2. The assembly has 140 seats in Kerala, while another seat is nominated. Assembly elections will be held in Kerala in only one phase. The Congress faced an awkward situation when Lathika Subhash, chairperson of the Kerala unit of the Women’s Congress, resigned from the post after not getting the ticket from the Ettumanoor seat. Senior leader Subhash (56) had also shaved his head sitting in front of the party office to protest against the non-receipt of tickets. Explain that in the list of 86 candidates of Congress, only 9 women are there. Latika Subhash has described herself as a symbol of not crushing women by the Congress.

In an interview with the English newspaper ‘Indian Express’, Lathika Subhash has raised many questions on the Congress and its ideology. He said, ‘In a state where the number of women is more than men, women are being ignored. This Congress act should be seen as a symbol of crushing women. Latika has announced to contest from Ettumanoor as an independent candidate
