Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra reviewed Coronavirus situation in Rourkela and Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar, 14/4(AO Bureau): Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra visited Sambalpur and Rourkela to review the situation. He landed in Jamadarpalli by special helicopter this morning and reached Burla. Bhimsar came and first visited Covid Hospital after reviewing it. “This is a very important decision. A total of 525 beds will be set up in the two hospitals. Another Covid Hospital will open in Burla. The 120-bed Covid Hospital is currently operating. It increased by 105 beds to 225. Of these, 50 will be ICUs and 165 will be general hospitals.

The second Covid Hospital will open in Bhimsar’s medicine building in 10 days. The new Covid hospital will have 50 ICUs and 250 general wards. A total of 525 beds will be operated at the two Covid hospitals.

It has also been decided to open two hospitals in Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts. Similarly, the situation is being monitored as the Chhattisgarh infection is on the rise, the chief minister said.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra, Chief Secretary Pradeep Mohapatra, DMIT CBK Mohanty, Sambalpur District Magistrate Shubham Saxena, Jharsuguda District Magistrate Saroj Samal, Bargarh District Magistrate Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan, Uttaranchal IG Jayashree Dora was the chief guest.

After Sambalpur, the team toured Rourkela. The Chief Secretary has reviewed the situation at the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital.
