Oxygen crisis: Tamil Nadu allows the opening of Vedanta-owned Sterlite plant

Chennai, 26/4 9AO Bureau):The Tamil Nadu government has decided to allow the Vedanta-owned Sterlite plant to be commissioned at Thoothukudi, in the wake of hundreds of deaths and daily life due to the Corona epidemic in the country. It has been allowed to be partially operational only for four months, and during this time only oxygen will be produced.

Significantly, due to environmental pollution, this plant has been closed since the year 2018 after heavy protests by local people. This decision was taken by the Tamil Nadu government at a time when the cases of corona are continuously increasing.
