Hyderabad, 16/5 (Ao Bureau): Two years ago, Vijay Shankar was selected in the Indian team for the 2019 World Cup (2019 ODI World Cup) in England. The selectors gave him a chance in place of Ambati Rayudu. But since this tournament, he is running out of the team till date. Shankar has not only disappeared from the selection committee’s radar, but is often a victim of trolling on social media based on his performance in the IPL. Fans pinch on him how this ‘3D’ player was selected in the World Cup squad. But is Vijay Shankar as bad as the trolls tell him ?. Did the selectors have no reason to choose him for the World Cup? On all these subjects, News 18 had a special conversation with this all-rounder.
Shankar said in response to the question that you are at that point in your career, where you have to decide which path to go, I said that I am very clear about one thing that my morality should be right. I should work in the right direction and work hard. Ever since I started playing cricket, this has been my mantra till now. I will continue to do so even if anything is happening outside.
