PM Modi to visit cyclone affected Odisha and West Bengal today

New Delhi, 28/5(Ao Bureau):Prime Minister Narendra Modi is today on a tour of various areas of Odisha and West Bengal affected by Cyclone Yaas. PM has left for Odisha. According to the information received, the Prime Minister will first reach Bhubaneswar and hold a review meeting. After this, he will conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas of Balasore, Bhadrak and East Midnapore districts of West Bengal. Before the aerial survey in Bengal, there will be a meeting of PM Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in which Mamta Banerjee will give information about the damage caused by the cyclone. After this, both will make an aerial survey of the cyclone affected areas.

 

Heavy rains occurred after the cyclone ‘Yas’ hit the eastern coasts of the country on Wednesday. During cyclone storm winds at a speed of 145 kilometers per hour, many houses were damaged, the fields were flooded. Four people died in the incidents related to the cyclone while more than 21 lakh people were evacuated to safe places in Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

 

Three people died in Odisha and one person in West Bengal due to the cyclone. The West Bengal government has claimed that at least one crore people have been affected due to this natural disaster. Yas is the second cyclone to hit the shores of the country within a week after ‘Taukte’
