Zydus Cadila developed vaccine for children aged 5-12

New Delhi, 30/5 (AO Bureau): The Zydus Cadila Group, based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is planning to test its coronavirus vaccine ZyKov-D for children aged 5 to 12 years. Zykov-D is a plasmid DNA vaccine, which is under the nucleic acid vaccine. Recently, Zydus Cadila has conducted 800 clinical trials for adults, while the vaccine has also been tested for children between 12 and 18 years old.

The company’s preparation is to get approval to use emergency for its vaccine by the end of June or July. In a conversation with The Times of India, Managing Director of Cadila Healthcare Limited said, “We will have a good amount of data on vaccine testing on children aged 5 to 12. Recently, Zydus Cadila has sought permission from the Drug Controller General of India for a human clinical trial of a monoclonal antibodies cocktail for the treatment of corona virus. Cadila Healthcare stated in its regulatory filing that “Zydus is awaiting approval from DCGI for a Phase III clinical trial of the ZRC-3308 vaccine of the corona virus.” This vaccine is a cocktail of two monoclonal antibodies to the corona virus.
