Tirunelveli, 18/6;In a shocking development, a dalit youth and two Sri Lankan refugees were allegedly attacked by a group ofmen from another community in the Tirunelveli district on Wednesday night.
Tension gripped parts of Tirunelveli district when six men attacked a Dalit man at Munneerpallam village due to old enmity, as per a report in The New Indian Express.
The report added that the police in Munneerpallam filed a case against four persons identified as Sankaralingam, Arunpandian, Arumugam and ‘Vathu’ Mani, and two unidentified, under different sections of the IPC and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for allegedly hacking 19-year-old Bala Murugesh.
