Due to incessant rain, not a single ball could be bowled and the day’s play was eventually called off. The first day’s play was also completely washed away by rain. Cricket fans eager to watch the match remained disappointed. Now it is believed that the reserve day will also be used in this match i.e. the match will be played for six days.
It rained incessantly for the fourth day in Southampton and at around 7:30 IST, the officials decided to cancel the fourth day’s play. The game took place on the second and third days, but due to bad light, the day’s play had to be called off ahead of time. So far, only 141.1 overs have been possible in four days.
