CM laid the foundation stone for the oxygen plant in 8 districts

Bhubaneswar, 24/6(Ao Bureau): Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today laid the foundation stone for Liquid Medical Oxygen and PSA Plant in eight districts of the state through video conferencing. These districts are Bargarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Rayagada and Malkangiri. He also inaugurated a 12-bed neonatal center at Berhampur City Hospital, a dialysis unit in Bhanjanagar, a new primary health center in Kukudakhandi block 4 and a new group health center in Digapahandi block 4.

 

On the occasion, the Chief Minister thanked the doctors, health workers and other cowboy warriors, saying that the situation in some coastal districts remained stable despite the improvement in the second wave. Similarly, experts have differing views on the third wave. In addition, delta plus variants have been found in some states. “In each case, the people have, for the first time, been offered a chance to vote.

 

“Preparation, vigilance and co-operation are our main mantras,” he said, adding that “we can win this fight only through government preparation, public vigilance and co-operation.”

 

Asked for public support in the field of vaccination, the Chief Minister said that more than 1 crore doses have been vaccinated so far. He said the state government had recently announced a Rs 180 crore package for the poor and farmers.

 

The Chief Minister said that while work had already started on LMO and PSA plants in 15 districts, the foundation stone was laid for these oxygen plants in nine more districts today. The Chief Minister sought the cooperation of the people in the efforts of the state government in providing better services to the people.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Bhaspati Shri Suryanarayana Patra, who was present at Berhampur, said that today was a good day for Ganjam. He highlighted the various steps being taken to improve the health infrastructure in Ganjam district. Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Nab Das, Rural Development Minister Shri Sushant Singh, Science and Technology Education Minister Shri Ashok Panda, Skills Development Minister Shri Premananda Nayak, Scheduled Tribes, Caste Development Minister Shri Jagannath Sarka, Kandhamal MP Shri Achuth Samantha, Nabarangpur MP Shri Rameshchandra Majhi and Kendrapara MLA Shri Shashibhushan Behera lauded the Chief Minister’s vision and efficient leadership for the better performance and health infrastructure of Odisha in the Kovid war in the state. The event was attended by MPs and legislators from different districts.

 

Chief Minister’s Secretary (5th) Shri V.K. Pandian conducted the program.

 

The event was graced by the Additional Chief Administrative Secretary of the Department of Health, Shri P.K. Mohapatra delivered the welcome address. Mrs. Yamini Sadangi, Managing Director, State Pharmaceutical Corporation, thanked the participants.

 

Chief Secretary Shri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Development Commissioner Shri P.K. Jenna, Chief Secretary, Industries, Hemant Sharma and other senior officials were present.
