Captain Amarinder Singh to visit Delhi today first time after resigning from CM post

New Delhi, 28/9: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will arrive in Delhi at 3:30 today. This is his first visit to Delhi after resigning as the Chief Minister of Punjab. According to sources, Amarinder Singh will leave for Delhi from Chandigarh in the afternoon. Amarinder Singh resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab on 18 September. He had said that he would not accept state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu as the next CM or the face of the party in the assembly elections. Sidhu was made the state Congress president earlier this year, despite protests from Amarinder Singh.

Later the first Dalit Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi took charge, promising free water supply to tiny houses, reduced electricity rates and a transparent government for the ‘common man’ in the electoral state.

Governor Banwarilal Purohit also administered the oath to two Deputy Chief Ministers Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni at the Raj Bhavan ceremony, which was also attended by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
