Goa Assembly Elections 2022: Manohar Parrikar’s son threatens to revolt BJP

Goa, 18/11: Former Goa Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Manohar Parrikar’s son Utpal Parrikar may leave the BJP. On Thursday, Utpal warned the BJP that he would have to take a “difficult decision” if the Bharatiya Janata Party did not give him a ticket from Panaji in the upcoming assembly elections in 2022. During this, Utpal Parrikar also expressed confidence that BJP will definitely give him a ticket in the Goa Assembly elections.

Utpal Parrikar said, “I have already told the party that I want to contest from Panaji and I am confident that the party will give me a ticket.” Atanasio Monserrate, who represented the seat, joined the BJP along with nine other MLAs, who won the 2017 election on a Congress ticket.

What will you do if you do not get ticket from BJP?

On what will he do if Utpal Parrikar is not given ticket from BJP, he said that this is not the time to talk about it. He said, “I don’t need to talk about that right now. Manohar Parrikar did not get anything easily in his life. Similarly, I have to work as well. I can also be forced to take some difficult decisions and I pray for strength, I have to take these decisions.”

He said, “When the time comes to take a decision, I will listen to the people. I have told the party and I am sure that the party will give me a ticket. I believe.”
