Blood Donation Camp: GKEL donates 108 units to District Blood Bank

Dhenkanal : In a bid to promote awareness among employees and their family members on the importance of donating blood, GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited (GKEL) – a subsidiary of GMR Power and Urban Infra Limited (GPUIL), organised a voluntary blood donation camp in the plant premises on July 25.

As many as 108 units of blood were collected during the day-long event, organised jointly by District Blood Bank, Dhenkanal.

GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) – the CSR wing of GMR Group and RAXA Techno Security Solutions (RAXA) – a GMR Group company providing integrated security solutions joined in the noble mission.

Congratulating all blood donors, Shri Dhanjaya Despande, COO, GKEL said, “Donating blood is a pious work and exhorted everyone to come forward for this noble cause.  GKEL has been the largest blood donor among all industries in Dhenkanal District consecutively for the last six years and we shall continue this service to the society for years to come.”  

the camp received active participation from GKEL employees & their family members, RAXA security & fire protection staff, trainees of RAXA Training Academy, GMRVF & DAV School staff and large number of workmen from associate agencies.  A team of doctors and paramedical staff from District Blood Bank, Dhenkanal facilitated the camp with support from GKEL team.

Besides blood donation camp, GKEL has been conducting several health camps in the periphery villages around the plant. Neighbourhood communities are been provided with free medical consulting services by Tele consultation through which various specialist are arranged, as well as medicines in these outreach camps.
