ED detains Sanjay Raut

Mumbai, 31/7: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday took into custody Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s residence after several hours of raids in the land scam case in Mumbai. The ED had raided the residence of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in Mumbai in connection with a money laundering case. Earlier, the ED had issued several summons against Raut, he was also summoned on July 27.

 

Raut was summoned by the ED for questioning in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of Mumbai’s Patra ‘chawl’ and transactions involving his wife and other ‘accomplices’. Raut had appeared before the agency in Mumbai on July 1 to record his statement in the matter. After this, the agency had summoned him twice, but did not appear citing being busy in the current Parliament session.
