Bhubaneswar/Tikiri: In its continuous endeavor towards building a strong safety culture in the organization by adhering to safety discipline, an on-site emergency mock drill was carried out at Utkal Alumina International Limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group on 20th December 2022 at it’s Doraguda Plant.
The emergency mock drill was carried out targeting HFO tank fire at Utkal Alumina. This was conducted to review the emergency preparedness plan of the organization and to further prepare the workforce and employees to face sudden emergency scenario.
The event was witnessed by Mr. S N Sethy, Deputy Director Factories and Broiler, Mr. Ranjit Nayak, Asst. Director Factories and Broiler as observer from Government Department. Mr. B Halabal & Mr. A Pattnaik from JK Paper industry witnessed the event as an observer from mutual aid partner. Representatives from Govt hospital Tikiri and Doraguda Police station have also attended the event.
The Mock drill was lead by the alternative workmen’s controller of Utkal Alumina Mr. Vijay Dhanuka, Head Engineering Refinery in co-ordination with site incident controller Mr. Kausiki Saran Mishra, Head Operation with the guidance of Mr Jai Tiwari, Head Safety. Leaders of three teams i.e. Combat team, Rescue team & Auxiliary team and their respective members carried out the mock drill in co-ordination with site incident controller in timely manner & as per the procedure. The de-briefing session was carried out by Dy Director and Asst Director Factories and Broilers where they mentioned that the mock drill was conducted in right way and as per norms. They emphasized on conducting such mock drill more frequently to ensure better efficacy. Mr. Prafulla Samal, AGM Safety Utkal Alumina has Vote of thanks to all the members present.
