Sundargarh: A week-long Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) winter workshop was inaugurated at NTPC Darlipali, by Shri Ajai Kumar Tandon, CGM (NTPC Darlipali) on 24th December 2022. During the workshop, 38 girls from government schools of nearby villages shall undergo training.
NTPC Darlipali had conducted four weeks long GEM Workshop in May-July 2022. The week-long winter workshop is a follow-up workshop being organised to test and examine the development of girl candidates along with training in different aspects.
Speaking on the occasion, CGM (Darlipali) highlighted the initiative which aimed at the all-round development of the girl child. He said that the GEM Workshop embodies the spirit of various development programmes launched for the welfare of girls and women.
Further, he also mentioned that from the year 2023, NTPC Darlipali will conduct GEM Workshop at a larger scale with 120 girl candidates from nearby villages.
The opening ceremony was also attended by village representatives from Raidihi & Kanaktura besides NTPC Darlipali senior officials including Shri H N Chakraborty, GM (O&M), Shri T K Bageshwar, GM(TS), Shri Arnab Maitra, GM (M), Shri Vishal Mathur, GM (Project), Shri Sanjay Srivastava, GM (Operation) & Shri Subhash Thakur, GM (FM) along with senior members of AbhilasÀ
