Kaniha : World Environment Day 2023 was observed at NTPC Talcher Kaniha on 05.06.2023 with current year theme “Solution to Plastic Pollution”. Environmental Pledges in English and Hindi were administered by Sh. K. S. Sundaram, ED Talcher Kaniha & Sh. A.K.Sehgal GM (O&M) respectively.
Sh. K. S. Sundaram, ED Talcher Kaniha conveyed the message of Director (Operation) on this occasion. In his address, he emphasized to take all possible steps to reduce plastic pollution in our routine life and make effort for conservation of natural resource for the future generation and urged to contribute our bit to keep the mother earth clean, beautiful & pollution free.
The event also witnessed a nukkad Natak performed by group of school children for spreading awareness on conservation of nature and importance of trees. Subsequently, mass tree plantation drive was carried out and around 300 fruit bearing tree saplings were planted at Stage II Township. Further under Mission LiFE initiative and WED Theme, “to say no to plastic”, jute bags were distribution among the employees of NTPC Kaniha. During this event various Environment Awareness related competitions like Quiz, Drawing, collage making & Slogan etc. were also organized for various groups of participants.
The programme was also graced by the presence of all GMs, Section Heads, DC(CISF), Vice President (Tanvi Shangam), representatives of Unions and Association, employees & associates and their family members, and GEM children who participated with full enthusiasm and made it a grand success.
