Maharashtra Govt removes Parambir Singh as Mumbai Police Commissioner

Mumbai, 17/3 (Ao Bureau):Parambir Singh has been removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner nearly a year after assuming the post. Hemant Nagarle will take over from Singh. Param Bir Singh, a 1988 batch IPS, was given the responsibility of this post in place of IPS officer Sanjay Barve on 29 February 2020. According to sources, Singh has been removed from the post due to the alleged involvement of Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze in possessing explosive-laden vehicles found in a posh area of ​​the city. Waze was remanded to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by 25 March.

Parambir Singh was recently in the news for exposing the alleged TRP scam. In which it was reported that people should set up a fixed channel at their homes to increase the TRP. In this scam, around five news and entertainment channels were accused of manipulating the TRP to get more advertisements.
