MHA releases new guidelines for COVID control

New Delhi, 23/3 (AO Bureau): New states are witnessing a spurt in new cases of the corona. Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has released a guideline for the month of April. In this guideline, the emphasis is mainly on working on the strategy of the test, track and treat. At the same time, the focus has been given to keep more focus on the vaccination campaign. In states where RPCR test data is less, it has been advised to increase it.

The guideline states that when a new corona case is detected, it should be treated in a timely manner and it should be monitored. All contact people should be quarantined through contact tracing. Put the information of the Containment Zone on the District Collector website and share this list with the Union Health Ministry.

The guideline also talks about proper fines for wearing masks and following the rules of social distancing. It has also been clarified that restrictions should not be imposed on interstate and intra-state (moving to another state).

Concern has been raised in the guidelines regarding the states where the pace of vaccination is slow. States have been asked to expedite vaccination. This is necessary to break the corona chain.

Corona cases have increased rapidly in Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Out of the new infections reported in the last 24 hours in the country, 81% of the cases are from these 6 states only.

Today, 40,715 new cases of corona have been confirmed. So far 1,16,86,796 people have been infected in the country. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o’clock this morning, after the death of 199 more patients in the country, the death toll rose to 1,60,166.
