US working to deploy help to COVID-19 hit India

Washington DC, 25/4 (AO Bureau): US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States will provide additional assistance to India in the fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic. Along with this, he is working closely with the American administration of the Indian government. The US Secretary of State’s statement comes at a time when the Biden administration is under pressure due to various MPs and well-known Indian-Americans raising demands to send other life-saving medicines, including the Kovid-19 vaccine, to India.

US Secretary of State Blinken said, “Our heart is being seated for the Indian people in the midst of this terrible outbreak of Kovid. We are working closely with our partners in the Government of India and we will soon release additional assistance for the people of India and the Indian Healthcare Hero.

At the same time, White House Press Secretary Jane Saki said on Friday that the United States has deep sympathy for the people of India struggling with this global epidemic. “We are working closely with the Indian authorities both politically and expertly to identify ways to deal with the crisis,” Saki said in his daily press conference. He said that the US has made vaccine cooperation with its Quad Group partners a big priority. Saki said in response to a question, ‘India is definitely one of our quad partners to discuss vaccine production and distribution in the future. We have also given billions of dollars for Kovacs. ‘

 

The US Secretary of State’s statement comes at a time when the Biden administration is being pressured by many sections to send AstraZeneca Vaccines and other Kovid-19 vaccines to India, along with many life-saving medical supplies. Those who make pressure include the powerful American Chamber of Commerce, MPs and eminent Indian-Americans.
