First consignment of Sputnik V to reach India today

New Delhi,1/5 (Ao Bureau): Today, the first consignment of the Russian Corona Vaccine Sputnik V is coming to India (India), amidst increasing cases of Corona in the country. Earlier in India, Corona is fighting a battle with Covishield and Covaxin. After the first shipment of Sputnik V, the pace of vaccination in India will increase further. Please tell that from today onwards, a campaign has been started to apply corona vaccine to every person above 18 years. In such a situation, the Russian corona vaccine Sputnik V will accelerate the corona vaccination campaign in India.

The Russian official has confirmed that the first consignment of Sputnik-V vaccine will arrive in India today. Sputnik-V vaccine has been developed by the Gamalaya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. Kirill Dimitrik, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), told news agency Reuters last week that the first dose of Sputnik-V would be delivered on May 1. He hoped that Russia’s Corona vaccine would be helpful in stopping the second wave .

Let us know that the Drug Controller General of India approved the limited emergency use of Russia’s Covid-19 vaccine ‘Sputnik-V’ with some conditions. With this, the way of availability of the third Corona vaccine in the country was cleared. Sources gave this information on Monday. Prior to this approval of the Drug Controller of India, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on the Covid-19 of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) on Monday recommended limited emergency use of ‘Sputnik V’ with certain regulatory conditions.

How much can Sputnik V cost?

Currently, both Covaxin and Covishield vaccines are available free of cost in government hospitals, while in private hospitals, there is a fee. At the moment Sputnik V will come, so there is no clarity about what it will cost. In countries that have approved the use of Sputnik, the cost of its vaccine is about 700 rupees. So if you import it from Russia then the cost of the vaccine can be high. But there is talk of its production here. In this case, the vaccine will be available at a lower cost. Please tell that a deal has been made to make 10 crore doses from its Dr. Reddy Laboratories.

What is the difference between the three vaccines?

Now if we compare it with our two vaccines, then there are many differences. The third stage trial saw Sputnik V’s Efficiency 91%. At the same time, both India Biotech’s Covaxin and Serum Institute’s Efficiency are comparatively few. Talking about the interval of giving doses, all three vaccines are given on a difference of a few weeks. This time is different for all three, while one similarity is that all three have to take two doses. That is, no vaccine is a single dose.
