Coronavirus: Trial of Novavax vaccine on children in July, Serum Institute has big preparations

New Delhi, 17/6 (AO Bureau): Serum Institute of India is planning to start a clinical trial of a Covid vaccine for children soon. Quoting sources, ANI has informed that the company plans to conduct clinical trials of Novavax on children in July. Serum Institute of India hopes that by September, the company will be able to launch the Novavax vaccine in the country under the name Covavax. Novavax is the American company, which has made the corona virus vaccine Novavax, in India, Novavax has a partnership with Serum Institute, which is providing the vaccine under the name Kovavax.
Earlier on Tuesday, the central government said that the data on the effectiveness of the Novavax vaccine against Kovid-19 is promising and encouraging and its clinical trials are in the advanced stage of completion in India. NITI Aayog Member (Health) VK Paul while addressing said that publicly available data also indicates that the vaccine is safe and highly effective.
He said, “What we are seeing from the available data is that the vaccine is very safe and effective, but the fact that makes this vaccine effective for today is that the vaccine will be produced by the Serum Institute in India.” The preparatory work has already been completed by Serum Institute and they are carrying out tests to make the system fully functional which is in advanced stage of completion.
