Ratha Yatra started in Puri without devotees

Puri, 12/7:Jagannath Ratha Yatra has started in Puri, Odisha on Monday. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this journey is being done without devotees for the second consecutive year. The Jagannath temple administration has made it clear that all covid rules will be followed during the Rath Yatra. According to the temple administration, only those whose covid report comes negative will be allowed to pull the chariot.

Ajay Jena, administrator of Puri Jagannath Temple has given information in this regard. He said, ‘Like last year, this year also Rath Yatra will be held on 12th July without devotees. This journey will be according to the orders of the Supreme Court and the guidelines of the state government. No devotee will be allowed to participate in the Rath Yatra. Those whose RT PCR report will be negative and those who have taken both doses of the vaccine, only they will be able to pull the chariot. Around 1000 officers have been deployed in it.
