Caste based reservation should be abolished: Shanta Kumar

Himachal Pradesh, 12/12: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shanta Kumar has said that caste based reservation in government jobs should be completely abolished. He said in his post on Facebook today i.e. Sunday morning that the time has come to end the caste based reservation system and give reservation on the basis of family income.

At the same time, while reacting to the formation of the General Category Commission made in Himachal, he said that the government had to immediately accept the talk of the protesters of Dharamsala demanding the formation of the commission. He said that the demonstration in Dharamsala in favor of the demand for the formation of a commission for the general category communities is historic and unprecedented. Kumar claimed that 80 percent of the country’s population is fed up with the caste-based reservation.

The poor of reserved castes are not getting benefits

With this, senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar, justifying his demand to end caste-based reservation, said that the poor belonging to reserved castes are not getting the full benefits of reservation for a long time.
