Rishi Sunak face setback to become PM of Britain

UK, 9/4: Indian-origin Rishi Sunak (Rishi Sunak) may get a setback to the hopes of becoming the next Prime Minister of Britain. In fact, in the UK, the opposition has surrounded Finance Minister Rishi Sunak regarding the tax dues of his wife Akshata Sunak. Akshata Sunak is the daughter of Narayan Murthy, the founder of India’s giant IT company Infosys.

Opposition parties in Britain have questioned the non-resident tax status of India-born Akshata Murthy and sought an explanation from her husband Rishi Sunak. Actually non-resident status means that Akshata Murthy is not legally bound to pay tax in UK on income earned abroad

On this matter, Akshata Murthy has told the BBC that she will start paying UK tax on “worldwide income”.

Taking this news prominently, British newspapers published on the front page and wrote that although there is no doubt that Sunak’s wife Akshata has done nothing wrong according to the laws of Britain.

She is entitled by UK law not to pay certain UK taxes. Still, the finance minister’s wife, who earns millions of dollars, yet pays zero tax on it, creates a negative impression.
