India to win at least 2 test to reach the finals of ICC test championship

Chennai, 5/2 (AO bureau):The first match of the four-Test series between India and England is being played at Chepauk ground in Chennai. Both teams will have their eyes set on making the final of the World Test Championship. New Zealand has made it to the finals of the Test Championship as soon as Australia’s South Africa tour was postponed. India, England, and Australia are now contenders for the second team of the final. The final of the Test Championship will be played at Lord’s ground on 18 June.

The equation to reach the final of the World Test Championship
If a Test series is drawn between India and England, then Australia will reach the final. If Team India has to reach the final, then they will have to win 2 Tests in a four-Test series. If the Indian team wins even 1-0 then it will be out of the race for the final. Even if India wins the Test series 2–1, they will still play the final. If England win the series 1–0, 2–0 or 2–1 then Australia can reach the final of the World Test Championship. For England to reach the final, India will have to beat 3–0, 3–1, or 4–0 in the Test series. However, it is almost impossible to beat India with such a big margin.
