Crisis in Punjab Congress: Another Minister resigns

Chandigarh, 28/9:The troubles of Punjab Congress are not taking the name of stopping. After the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu from the post of Punjab Congress President, a cabinet minister has also tendered his resignation on Tuesday. It is being told that Punjab minister Razia Sultan has resigned in support of Sidhu. Razia Sultana, who joined Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s new cabinet two days ago, was given the charge of Water Supply and Sanitation and Women and Child Development.

Razia Sultana, showing solidarity with Navjot Singh Sidhu, resigned from the minister’s post saying, “Sidhu sahib is a man of principles. He is fighting for Punjab and Punjabiyat.” Sultana is considered close to Sidhu. Her husband Mohammad Mustafa is the Principal Strategic Advisor to Sidhu, who has been an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. She was handling the responsibility of the Transport Minister in the Amarinder Singh-led government.
